Two Christmas Questions

I posed these questions to my grandchildren:

“1. When was Jesus born?

No one really knows. December 25 is not likely the date. The season was most likely during spring, and it was at night because that's when the shepherds went to see the baby Jesus  (Read Luke 1:8-17). So, Jesus, at that time was called a ‘babe’ and was most likely born in the spring.

2. Who were the first to visit the baby Jesus?

It seems that the shepherds were according to Luke 1:8-17. Nothing is said about anyone else visiting before them (not even a drummer boy). The wise men came two years later (Read Matthew 2:10-11). By this time Joseph and Mary were staying in a ‘house’ and Jesus was a ‘young child.’ So, the nativity scenes we see on front yards and elsewhere with the shepherds and wise men together are not accurate. Why? Because the shepherds saw the BABY Jesus, but the wise men saw the CHILD Jesus two years later. A wicked king named Herod wanted to kill Jesus. So, he had his soldiers kill children who were two years old and younger in Bethlehem (Matthew

2:16). Jesus was safe because the Lord had told Joseph to leave and go to Egypt (Matthew 2:13-14).  Please read the scriptures provided.

It's amazing how God arranges events in history. As we come near the close of 2025, have you considered what arrangements God has for your life in 2026. Read Proverbs 3:5.”

Blessings!

Think about it. Blessings!
