Where Was Jesus Born?
In the Milky Way galaxy? Yes
In our solar system? Yes
On planet Earth? Yes
In the Middle East? Yes
In Israel? Yes?
In Bethlehem? Which one?
What! Is there more than one?
Yes. Look at the map;
There’s one in the north near Nazareth where Jesus grew up, and there’s another one in the south where Jesus was born.
How do we know for sure which one was where the birth of Jesus occurred? By the following scripture:
“When Herod the king heard (about Jesus’ birth)…inquired of them (Jewish priests) where the Christ was to be born.
So they said to him, ‘In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written by the prophet (Micah):
“But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, Are not the least among the rulers of Judah;
For out of you shall come a Ruler
Who will shepherd My people Israel’” (Matt. 2:3-5). Micah 5:2 is a prophecy about the birth of Christ in Bethlehem:
““But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are little among the thousands of Judah, Yet out of you shall come forth to Me The One to be Ruler in Israel, Whose goings forth are from of old, from everlasting.”
Matthew says Bethlehem which is in Judah (the south) and Micah’s prophecy says it’s in Ephrathah which refers to the county. Therefore, Jesus was born in the southern Bethlehem, not the one in the north. Joseph had moved from Nazareth to Bethlehem in Judea where Jesus was born (Luke 2:4-7). That was necessary in order to fulfill Micah’s prophecy. Praise God!🙌🏾
There are at least four states with a city named Dallas: Illinois, Georgia, Texas and Indiana.
God appointed Dallas to be my birthplace. It wasn’t prophesied, but divinely planned, and it came to pass in 1947. What state? Texas. What hospital? Parkland Memorial Hospital.
Twenty-one years later, that perfect baby that was born in Bethlehem of Judah (or Ephrathah) about 2,000 years ago saved this sinner, making him a saint. 🙌🏾
So, I’m a saint from Texas! 😊
Blessings!
