Taking a Stand

I’ve almost given up on the visible institutional churches though they will exist until the Lord returns. To me, the real church is revealed by saints who are genuinely committed to the Lord and His Word like the medieval reformers – Tyndale, Wycliffe, Hus, Luther, Calvin, etc. These men strongly stood on God’s Word and were hated by the Church (of all things) and the State (government). They spoke out while facing dangerous resistance like the OT prophets did (Isaiah and Jeremiah). So, since we have the same Holy Spirit as they did, we must boldly stand on God’s Word and defend “the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 1:3). By the way, the largest underground church is no longer in China but in Iran. Beneath the surface, things are brewing there. The Holy Spirit is doing exactly what Jesus said in John 3:8.
