I got another question from my youngest daughter (45 yrs. old). There’s nothing like having your children ask you Bible questions:
Another question... Old testament references the coming of the Messiah. Was it referring to Jesus? Prophecy of his coming?? If so, which scriptures refer to this prophecy??
Currently reading the below title for answers...Jesus Prophecies by Michel Guinan.”
“I'm not familiar with Michel Guinan. If he is the same one on Google (first name spelled Michael), he is a Catholic priest
(Ugh!) who has produced a lot of resources (www.audio Bible.com/search?searchNarrator=Michael+D+Guinan).
Regarding your question about Old Testament prophecy on the 2nd coming of Christ, there's more than I can put in a text. Here's what Jesus said about it:
(1) "You search the Scriptures (Old Testament) for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of Me" (John 5:39)
(2) "Then He said to them, “These are the words which I spoke to you while I was still with you, that all things must be fulfilled which were written in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms concerning Me" (Luke 24:44).
So, the Old Testament is saturated with prophecy on Christ's 2nd Coming. Here's a few key passages from Isaiah (read them):
Isaiah 2:1-5
Isaiah 7:14 (see Matt. 1:23)
Isaiah 9:6-7
Isaiah 11:1-9
Isaiah 53:1-11
Isaiah chapters 60, 61, 63, 65
(I love 65:17).
That is just a minute tip of the iceberg in Old Testament prophecy. The topic is very profound and rich in insights about the world's future, especially in Daniel and Ezekiel. I will text you a picture of the Tim LaHaye Prophecy Study Bible. It's very informative and easy to understand. It's a "must-have" when studying Bible prophecy.
The topic is also controversial, unfortunately, even among good Bible scholars. But, it's worth studying. I don't have all the answers, but I believe I have the right ones. If I don't, at least I have the right answer about salvation - Jesus, His death for my sin, and resurrection from the dead. 🙌🏾
