Moving Forward From A Negative Past

A dear brother texted the below online information to me about 19 Black soldiers executed in 1917.
This is my response:
“Good news followed by bad news about the execution of 19 Black soldiers. I hate that happened, but it's true history and cannot be reversed.
Today, we have to go forward and not be weighed down by the negatives of the past. Otherwise, we'll feel victimized and depressed and not be motivated to progress toward better things. We don't ignore the past, but we learn from it and make life better for others (no matter who) and for ourselves.
This relates to the Golden Rule:
"And just as you want men to do to you, you also do to them likewise" (Luke 6:31).
That rules out revenge.
Blessings!
