What’s Heavy on My Heart
Unfortunately, so many of God’s children see life through the lens of politics rather than through the word of God. It breaks my heart that so many of my brothers and sisters in Christ have allowed themselves to prioritize the views and values of this world rather than focusing on the sovereignty, holiness, grace, and mercy of God which come through Jesus Christ our Lord.
The following is my response to texts from some brothers with whom I disagree but dearly love:
“Although we have our preferences, my brother is correct. The final decision is in God's hands. Daniel 2:21 says, ‘And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings;
He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding.” It's hard to imagine that God would raise up wicked leaders to rule over people whether an empire, a nation, a state, or a municipality. His word says, ‘When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice; But when a wicked man rules, the people groan’ (Prov. 29:2). That's a fact of life as well as a historical reality. Being so focused on politics, which the devil loves for us to do, we're not mindful of the fact that ‘we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places’ (Eph. 6:12). That's not referring to a political contest, but to a spiritual war which Harris nor Trump can win. The spiritual war is going to make matters worse regardless of who wins the election. Why? Because God is deeply displeased with America and is revealing His displeasure by allowing unforeseen disasters to happen before our eyes. Unfortunately, the church is spiritually ineffective for the most part and is not even considering godly repentance, yet praying for "revival." Most churches in America have abandoned the Christian faith (the Bible) and are still being supported by God's people (Incredible!). So, whoever wins the election won't stay God's judgment on this country. Rather than focus the blame on Harris or Trump, we need to acknowledge that God's righteous judgment on us is deserved and should personally repent of having allowed ourselves to be spiritually blinded by political issues and being lackadaisical in telling others about the saving grace of Jesus Christ.
This is what's heavy on my heart and I've poured it out to you, my brothers.
Sorry for the lengthiness. 🙏🏾❤️”
