God’s love is inexhaustible

Today a friend shared with me the passage below:
"But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from wrath through Him." Romans 5:8-9 NKJV
My response to him was that “the passage was profound,” meaning that God’s love is inexhaustible. That’s why John 3:16 says, “God so loved...” BUT, His love doesn’t save us. What’s required is “whosoever believes.” It is God’s grace that saves us through faith (believing). See Ephesians 2:8, 9. Motivated by profound love, Christ died for sinners (like me), but salvation is efficacious only for those who believe (which I do). Righteousness is imputed not to those who work for salvation, but to those who believe (Romans 4:4, 5). Even so, God’s love is deeper still. I don’t think believers will ever fully understand it, even when they/we get to heaven. BUT, “what a day of rejoicing that will be.”
Blessings!
