Faulty Evangelism

I believe God saves some people IN SPITE of faulty evangelism. That’s because the Holy Spirit is far more powerful than our flaws. Even though I prayed the so-called sinner’s prayer, I now know that I wasn’t saved by it. I was saved by faith (June 16, 1968). The passages read to me were the following;

John 3:26 God loves me

Rom. 3:23 I am a sinner

Rom. 6:24a I was dead in sin

Eph. 2:8-9 God saves by grace

Rom. 10:9 a hearty belief in Christ saves

1 Peter 2:2 I need the Word to grow

The missing word was repentance, but the Holy Spirit convicted my soul anyway. That tells me that it’s never in vain to share Scripture as much as possible and let the Holy Spirit do only what He can do – bring sinners to faith in Christ. Make sense?
