My response to a sister who harbors a negative view towards men:
“Well, my sister, you apparently have seen and heard a lot of negatives about men which obviously have left a bad impression. I’ve always commended you as an attractive woman which is God’s gift to you, and It’s not your fault that men with wrong motives are attracted to you. Handsome and good looking men experience the same problem, like Joseph did in Potiphar’s house (Gen. 39:7-31). Paul’s teaching comes to mind: “I wrote you in my letter not to associate with immoral people; I did not at all mean with the immoral people of this world, or with the covetous and swindlers, or with idolaters, for then you would have to go out of the world. But actually, I wrote to you not to associate with any so-called brother if he is an immoral person, or covetous, or an idolater, or a reviler, or a drunkard, or a swindler—not even to eat with such a one. For what have I to do with judging outsiders? Do you not judge those who are within the church? But those who are outside, God judges. Remove the wicked man from among yourselves” (1 Corinthians 5:9-13).
So, it seems the best we can do is avoid hypocritical Christians, pray for them, and be a witness to the unsaved. Unsaved folks, with some exceptions, are generally more genuine & opened about their sins because they don’t have the conviction of the Holy Spirit in them. Ironically, it seems easier for believers to be hypocritical than unbelievers. That’s why Paul wrote that we should separate ourselves from them until they repent. I hope I’m making sense. Blessings!”
