AN EXCUSE FOR NOT BELIEVING IN GOD

A dear brother wanted to know how to respond to someone who wanted visible evidence of God’s existence.
My response:
“The question is what I consider a smokescreen. It’s an excuse based on an unwillingness to believe in God. See Romans 1:20-21. Based on that passage, I would ask the person would he believe if he were shown the evidence. I would also challenge the person to prove there is no evidence.
People always use the argument that God cannot be seen because there’s no evidence of His existence. Such an argument presupposes that these persons have comprehensive knowledge of the total universe, its past, present, and future. Only God has that knowledge.
Much more could be said, but what I’ve shared is a good start.
Blessings.”
Actually, there are no real atheists. Everybody believes in some kind of supreme being, even if they don’t know who he is (Acts 17:22-23).
Only the Holy Spirit convinces people that the God of the Bible is the only true God (John 15:7-11).
Blessings!
