Advocate

The Bible says, “My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous” (1 John 2:1). “Advocate” is a legal term meaning “to stand alongside as a lawyer.” Jesus is our Lawyer whose blood “cleanses us from all sin” (1 John 1:7). Therefore, Jesus is “able to keep you from stumbling, and to make you stand in the presence of His glory blameless with great joy” (Jude 1:24). I’m looking forward to that great day when we stand blameless (without sin) in His presence.
