The Mosaic Law Points to Jesus

A dear brother has a nephew who is “focused mainly on the law and not understanding Grace.”  He wants to study the Hebrew Bible instead of the New Testament. Such people are called legalists because they believe in salvation by works, not by grace.

BUT! Ephesus 2:8-9 says, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” The key words are “grace” and “faith,” meaning we can only experience God’s grace (God’s unmerited favor) by faith (belief in, trust in, rely upon) Christ who died for our sins and rose from the dead.

Here’s my response to my dear brother:

“Understand (my dear brother), May the Holy Spirit open his eyes to see grace in the Hebrew Bible (Gen. 6:8) and become aware of Whom the Mosaic Law points to (John 5:45-47; Gal. 3:11-14).

The Theme of all Scripture, Old and New Testament, is Jesus

(John 5:39). I praise God for revealing His Son, Jesus, throughout all Scripture. 🙌🏾”

May the Holy Spirit open the eyes of people who are legalists.

Blessings!
