Psalm 23

My Thoughts on Psalm 23

I have meditated on this psalm many times for encouragement. Below are thoughts that usually come to my mind. I shared them with my children and grandchildren and now with you, my brothers and sisters in Christ:

"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want (not lack anything)

He maketh me to lie down in green pastures (provides relaxation and comfort);

he leadeth me beside the still waters (provides freshness).

He restoreth my soul (revives His children)

he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake (empowers us to live a holy life in our private and public life);

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death (due to enemies or bad health), 

I will fear no evil: for thou art with me (perpetual presence);

thy rod (for correction) and thy staff (for direction) they comfort me. 

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies (satisfactory and victory);

thou anointest my head with oil (empowered by the Holy Spirit); my cup runneth over (filled with the Holy Spirit)

Surely goodness and mercy (God's presence and provision) shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord (heaven) for ever" (Psalm 23).

Just wanted to share them with you to encourage you. God’s word is the most precious and encouraging gift we have to strengthen our faith and bring us to spiritual maturity (1 Peter 2:2).
