A Very Helpful Reminder

A dear brother texted a very helpful reminder to me and some other brothers regarding our need to fulfill our various roles in our family, church, workplace, and community.

Here’s my response:

“(My brother), thank you for sharing those refreshing words of wisdom to remind us of our responsibilities to fulfill each of our God-given roles according to His word. I needed that reminder, as well as strength and wisdom from the Lord each day to fulfill those roles. I'm always reminded of the words of Jesus - ‘without me you can do nothing’

(John 15:5). That is so true!

Then, the Apostle Paul wrote, ‘I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me’ (Philippians 4:13).

Finally, I depend on the Lord to guide me (my thoughts and my walk) each day - ‘In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths’ Proverbs 3:6).”

I know you’ll agree that living by Scripture is the best way to live because it means living by the truth. Jesus said, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:31b-32).
